Hey Friends,
We all know that stress is inevitable, and we also know that it is not always a bad thing- especially when you have tools to help you cope with it.
There are two coping styles that people use, problem-focused coping & emotion-focused coping. In short- problem-focused coping attempts to alleviate stress directly- by changing the stressor or the way we interact with that stressor. Emotion-focused coping attempts to alleviate stress by avoiding or ignoring a stressor & attending to emotional needs related to our stress reaction. It hardly needs to be said that problem-focused coping is much more effective.
Can we sit in the silence and observe the things we don’t want to feel? Can we use our time on the mat to step outside the stories of our minds to see a clearer picture?
